Ranna Gill has specialized in women outfits and has toiled indefatigably towards creating a new fashion line that bestows the urban lady with a global look. New Delhi’s National Institute of Fashion Technology was the stepping stone for a sparkling designer career that was to follow.
After mastering the creative designing art from here with an associate degree, she moved to USA to graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
She worked as an intern under the top fashion designers of India such as Rohit Khosla and went on to join the feminine division of Polo Ralph Lauren at New York’s Madison.
The priceless experience garnered under top designers and working with Polo infused her with a high degree of confidence and stropped her skill to start bailing out crackling designs that the International couture would fall for. After her stint with them, she felt that India was beckoning her to return and made her way home to start a fresh innings over here.
With a remarkable resume to flaunt and tons of ideas bubbling to materialize, he set out to give the contemporary Indian women an international look with her innovation line of collections.
The garments she designs are synonymous with the cool and confident traits of present day youth. Her favorite shades of color are vibrant red, muffled turquoise, gold and green with lots of blue that exhibits the tranquil disposition and passionate attitude of her and the customers. Her ingenuity expresses women’s lib and supremacy of feminine power and independence of thought.
By 1996, she launched her personal label ’Ranna Gill’. After her stint of five years with the Indian fashion fraternity, in the year 2000 she broke ground for her own boutique Ameera. Ranna likes to experiment but is more inclined to design garments that have a ready market.
Her contemporary and versatile collections are a toast with both indigenous and foreign clients. Her designs are far from being clichéd or foreseeable and are an epitome of originality that have placed her with the top fashion designers of India. Her costumes have a ready market in America, Japan, Singapore and Middle East.
